How to Fix a Dried Up MAC Paint Pot

Unfortunately, my MAC Paint Pot has dried up. The oils in the product separated causing it to lose the creamy consistency. What was once a creamy product turned into a product that seems as if it was basking in the sun, it is stiffer than a well pressed shirt in spray starch. I have more than half product left as I alternate between the paint pot and Ambrosia Eye Fx Primer; therefore, I had to find a way to revive what’s left of the product.

Things you will need
- Dried up MAC Paint Pot
- Spatula
- Blow dryer for melting
- Paper Towel
Follow these steps to revive dried up MAC Paint Pot
- Lay a paper towel to prevent unnecessary mess or spillage and place the paint pot on it
- Turn on the blow dryer and use it to warm up the paint pot. This will help to soften the product which will make it easier to mix. You can also skip the heat and go straight to the next step.
- Use the spatula to mix and break up the product after it has softened.
- Do a swatch test to see if the product has a soft and creamy consistency.
Tips to Prevent Drying:
- When storing product turn it upside down. This might seem weird but it helps with the longevity of the product.
- Place a small aluminum foil over the product after usage. If you have problems cutting the aluminum foil and getting it to fit. Simply tear off a small piece, place it over the MAC Paint Pot and screw the cover on. This will help to cut the foil in place. Clean up foil from around the container.
There are other ways to revive your dried up MAC Paint Pot but it involves adding liquid which might change the consistency of the product. If this method worked for you post your comments below.
